This probable corridor villa was discovered in 1854.  There seems to have been at least 6 rooms, possibly a corridor 35' x 10.5' and an apse. The pavement of the apse was 6" above the rest and may indicate two periods. Several pieces of Roman urns, bricks, tiles, flues etc were found, along with a mosaic which was removed and is now in the Yorkshire Museum. Unfortunately, the precise location of the villa is not known, and has been associated with both Burton House Farm  and Pond House Farm.
